At The Park
Nora is pushing Matthew on the swings when she sees Troy in the park. Shocked at seeing him, she walks over to Troy.
Nora: What are you doing here?!
Troy: Walking home.
Nora: To Africa?
Troy: (laughing) To Front Street.

Nora: When I left you said you had plans to go back to Africa.
Troy: Didn't anyone tell you?
Nora: Tell me what?
Troy: I thought for sure Sam would have mentioned it . . . I've decided to stay in Llanview.
Nora: Why?!
Troy: Because of you. (Nora gets panicked look on her face.)

Nora: You're staying in Llanview because of me!
Matthew: Mommy look how high I am!
Nora: (turning to look at Matthew, she moves away from Troy) Oh you're doing great sweetheart. Just hold on with both hands okay.
Matthew: Okay.
Nora: (walking to the other side of the bench) When did this sudden change of plans happen?
Troy: The last time we talked . . . after you saved my life.
Nora: We DIDN'T talk about you staying. We talked about how glad I was that you were leaving.
Troy: I know! Because I'm a constant reminder of everything that Colin did to you.
Nora: EXACTLY!
Troy: But I'M not Colin.
Nora: It doesn't matter. Don't you see. It just doesn't matter
Troy: (walking up to Nora) NO! NO! NO! NO! It DOES matter. Look Colin didn't just hurt you, he hurt me too! And he hurt just about everyone here in Llanview. NOW I understand that you'd all rather I leave cause it's a whole lot easier. Because it's too painful a reminder to have me walking around reminding you of Colin.
Nora: It's not just painful! It's unnerving. (Nora walks to the other side of the bench)

Troy: But I AM entitled to a life too.
Nora: YES you are, yes . . . but NOT here in Llanview!
Troy: You know I realized when I decided to stay here . . . I realized I'd spend everyday paying for what Colin did.
Nora: That's right! Doesn't that bother you?
Troy: It use to. But then I realized there's another way to pay for what my brother did. So I used Colin's money from his estate to fund the free clinic at the hospital. And now I can use my skills as a doctor to help people. To try and make amends to the community for everything that Colin did. It's already up and running.
Nora: So I talked to Sam everyday. He never mentioned anything about that.
Troy: Well that's strange. I thought he would've. I don't know, maybe he didn't want to frighten you.
Nora: Should I be?
Troy: Well Sam thinks you should be. Sam thinks I have some kind of agenda.
Nora: And what would that be?
Troy: Sam thinks I'm going to hurt you.
Nora: Sam is usually a very, very good judge of character. So why is he so suspicious of you?
Matthew: Mommy, look how high I am!
Nora: (looking back at Matthew) Oh sweetie, that's a little too high, okay. Hold on with both hands and just not so high. (turning back to Troy)
Troy: (looking over at Matthew) He's a cute kid.
Nora: You're not answering my question.
Troy: I have no idea why Sam is so suspicious of me. You may want to ask him. (walking towards Nora, who quickly retreats, keeping the bench between them) Look my only agenda . . . my only agenda here in Llanview is to try and make up for some of what my brother did. I'm not here to hurt anyone.
Nora: Well you already have! Lots of people, including me, because you're a constant reminder of what Colin did.
Troy: I CAN'T HELP what I look like!
Nora: I understand that!

Troy: Look I thought, I thought that when you said good-bye, when you saved my life . . . I thought you made peace with what happened.
Nora: I made peace with taking somebody else's life! I NEVER made peace or will EVER forgive Colin for what he did to me!
Troy: I AM not asking you to.
Nora: YES YOU ARE!
Troy: NO NORA! NO! I am asking YOU to not blame ME for what I look like.
Nora: You know what, it's not your fault that you're his twin. It doesn't matter! YOU are his twin and I have to sit here and (she's very upset and trying to think of the words to say) look . . . I have to see his face in this town that I live in . . . How am I suppose to live with that? (frustrated, she sits down on the bench)
Troy: (sitting on the opposing bench, his back to hers) I don't know. I don't know! Maybe you're right. Maybe this whole thing was one giant mistake.

Nora: You're the only one who can undo this.
Troy: (smirks) Are you suggesting that I give up my clinic and leave town?
Nora: Are you suggesting that if I said yes, you would leave? (turning to look back at him)
Troy: (resting his elbows on his knees) I became a doctor so that I can help people. I've tried to follow that, both as a doctor and as a man.
Nora: I believe that.

Troy: So if my being here is going to harm you in any way, well then I'll leave.
Nora: You'd give up the clinic that easily?
Troy: Easily! NO! But I could give it up. I could go somewhere else and help people there.
Nora: Just like that because I asked you?
Troy: Look (he gets up from the bench) I like Llanview. I'd like to live here. But it's not my home, it's your home. And I don't want you to be uncomfortable in your home. (She looks up at him) I meant what I said. If you say leave, I will!
Troy: So do I stay or do I leave?
Nora: (standing) Hell of a responsibility, having your fate in my hands!

Troy: It sure is.
Nora: It was just such a shock to see you still here.
Troy: I'm sure. Especially since no one warned you.
Nora: I don't think I can get over the horrible feeling I get when I think I'm seeing Colin.
Troy: Sounds like you made a decision.
Nora: (looking over at Matthew) Matthew, honey two hands. OH!
Matthew: Mommy! (Nora goes running over to him. Troy follows.)
