At Bo's Apartment
Lanie: What's it going to take to get you to marry me Bo Buchanan? What more can I do to? (There's a knock at the door. She goes to answer it.) Troy!
Troy: Hi! Look I'm sorry, I don't mean to frighten you.
Lanie: Ah no, you didn't, you didn't. I'm sorry. It's just that. . .
Troy: Yeah, I know I've been getting alot of that these days.
Lanie: Yeah I bet.
Troy: (laughing shyly) Okay, you're still staring.
Lanie: I'm sorry. Uh did you know that you have a bruise on your face?
Troy: (touching his bruised cheek) Ah yeah, yeah. It's nothing.
Lanie: Are you sure?
Troy: Yeah, I'm positive. Um, look I came by for a reason.
Lanie: Oh did you want to see Bo? I mena, he was called down to the station.
Troy: Ah yeah I know. No, actually I came here to see you. I have something for you. Something I think you'll want.
Troy: (sitting on the couch next to Lanie) I was going through Colin's papers trying to sort everything out and uh I came across this. I thought you might like to have it. (He hands her an envelope)
Lanie: What is it? (opening the card, she reads it) "To my bride. The ring I put on your finger is an eternal circle like our love". (looking puzzled)
Troy: I don't know, once I realized they were Colin's wedding vows, I stopped reading it. I felt like I was invading his privacy.
Lanie: Oh yeah, well, there's only one problem.
Troy: What's that?
Lanie: Colin didn't write these vows for me.
Troy: He didn't write the vows for . . .Well, who did he write them for? I mean he wasn't married to anyone else, was he?
Lanie: Uh NO, not that I know of. I don't know who these are . . . (looking at the front of the card) What! (standing up quickly)
Troy: (standing) What is it?
Lanie: There's a date . . . March 13, 2001.
Troy: Well that's weird. That's the night Colin died.
Lanie: He wrote these vows for Nora!
Troy: For Nora! (laughing) Isn't that a little morbid even for Colin?
Lanie: No! He believed they belonged together. He fantasized about marrying her.
Troy: Oh, well I'm going to say it's pretty safe to assume that Nora's not going to want them either.
Lanie: Well yeah, you can count on that. You know it's amazing to me that Colin had all this love and devotion for a woman who wanted nothing to do with him . . . and me, I was in love with him and he . . . ah (the phone rings) Would you excuse me? (answering the phone) Hello.
Bo: Hi honey, it's me.
Lanie: Me who?
Bo: Look I've been trying to get out of here as fast as I can but it looks like it's going to take a little bit longer. I'm sorry.
Lanie: It's okay.
Bo: Yeah, but you worked so hard to make this evening special
Lanie: Oh don't worry about it. I mean I knew what I was signing up for when we got engaged.
Bo: Alright. I'll see you soon.
Lanie: I'll be waiting. (hanging up the phone)
Troy: Ah well I guess I should probably get going. Again I'm very sorry if I upset you. I'll just, I'll let myself out. (walks to the door)
Lanie: Troy wait! There is something you can do for me.
Troy: There's something I can do for you? Sure. What is it?
Lanie: Tell me what Colin told you about me . . . about our marriage.
Troy: Oh, uh WOW! (embarrassed) I wish I could.
Lanie: Come on, it couldn't be that bad.
Troy: No, no, no, that's not what I meant. What I meant was that Colin really never said much about you
Lanie: What?!
Troy: Well I knew the two of you had gotten married, but that was about it. I never really knew anything about you. (walking around the room) I never knew how you met, . . . what you did, . . . what you looked like.
Lanie: You mean he never sent you a picture, a letter, a phone call, nothing?
Troy: No!
Lanie: Did you know that I put him through medical school?
Troy: No, I didn't know that, but it figures.
Lanie: I can't believe this. He didn't say anything to you about me?
Troy: I'm sorry.
Lanie: That's ridiculous. I mean I was his wife! I mean you were his brother. I just . . .
Troy: I know. Look Colin had problems in all of his relationships. I'm . . . I'm very sorry if he hurt you. You deserve better than that.
Lanie: (stunned) Yeah.
Troy: But hey looks like things are turning around for you now, right? I mean I heard you just mention on the phone that you're engaged.
Lanie: (less than enthusiastically) Yeah I've never been happier . . . in my life . . . than with Bo.
Troy: Well that's . . . that's great. I mean, I wish you two the best.
Lanie: Thank you.
Troy: So when's the big day?
Lanie: Well you know, uh the trial and everything that's been going on, it's just been crazy. But it's soon, very, very soon!
Troy: Well glad to hear it. Something tells me this time you're going to get those vows. Well you have a good night, okay!
Lanie: Night. (After Troy leaves, Lanie takes the paper with Colin's vows for Nora on it and cuts off the date.)
