Transcribed by Lee Reid. Nora: You have the whole story of how I killed your brother. (sighs) I hope you don't expect me to apologize for what I did. Troy: I don't know what I expected but it certainly wasn't that. Nora: I hate what I did. I hate what I did but, given the same set of circumstances, I would do it again in a second. Troy: Yeah, well, if anything, I should apologize for what my brother did to you. Nora: It's not necessary. You're not your brother's keeper. Troy: That's true. But, even so, I am still very sorry for what Colin did to you. Nora: Thank you. (Camera angle widens, revealing Sam standing behind them, glaring at Troy.) Sam: You get your hands off her! You heard me. I said get your hands off her!
Nora: Sam! Sam: Did he hurt you? Nora: No. Sam: I swear to God, if he so much as even threatened you. Nora: No, I'm all right. Really. Sam, really, I'm OK. Troy: I was just trying to find out what Colin did to make everybody in this town hate him so much. Sam: Uh-huh. Troy: No one was even willing to talk about it until finally Nora… Sam: What is the matter with you? You made Nora re-live that night? Huh? Nora: Sam! Sam: Did you? Did you? That was the worst night of her life, thanks to your brother, and now you want to come back here and make Nora Nora: Sam, it's all right. Sam: NO it's NOT all right! MacIver, I want you out of this town and I want you out of this town NOW. And you make damn sure you never come back. Nora: Sam, Tr-uh, Dr. MacIver did not force me to talk about anything.
Sam: What are you doing here? What are you even doing here in the first place, MacIver? Troy: If you'll just calm down… Sam: What did you do, follow her? Troy: No, I didn't follow her. I came for a swim. I had no idea Miss Buchanan would be here. Sam: Oh, yeah, right. Nora: Sam! Troy: Look, I can understand why you're so upset… Sam: Yeah, wow, what a guy. Nora: Sam! Troy: especially after what Miss Buchanan told me about my brother, how he treated people, the way he tormented them and hurt them. Sam: Yeah, Nora most of all. Troy: Yes, Miss Buchanan most of all. Sam: So you want to come here to make her re-live that night all over again. You want to torment her all over again? You are worse than your brother! Nora: Okay! That's no what happened, Sam. Troy: You know it's never pleasant when people treat you as though you're someone else. I'm NOT my brother, Mr. Rappaport. Nora: I think intellectually everyone understands that but since you are his identical twin, it's hard for people to think before they react.
Troy: I understand. I just hope that while I'm here in Llanview handling Colin's estate, that maybe some people can be convinced to change. Sam: I'll tell you what, MacIver. I have a really simple solution for you. I'll take control of handling Colin's estate for you. Troy: Excuse me? Sam: Yeah. Gratis! I'll walk it through probate, sell the house, dispose of any assets, and send the proceeds to your clinic in Africa. And you can get on with your life. You can catch the first flight out of Llanview tonight. Troy: No. I have a lot of loose ends to tie up here in Llanview - things I prefer to handle myself. I hope that's all right. Sam: And if it's not? Nora: Sam, that's not our call! Troy: I doubt it will take too long. Sam: You stay away from my family, is that clear? Troy: I realize that it's not easy because I'm Colin's identical twin. Seeing me may make people remember some very difficult times. Sam: IS THAT CLEAR? Troy: I will make very effort to stay away from your family, Mr. Rappaport and to stay away from Nora Buchanan. I'm only going to be around for a few days and then you'll never have to see me again. Nora, thank you very much for telling me about my brother. I know it couldn't have been easy. Nora: It probably wasn't very easy to hear either. Troy: No, it wasn't. but it does help to explain some things. Mr. Rappaport. Sam: You make sure you keep your promise. Stay away from my family, stay away from Nora, you stay away from everyone. Troy: I'll do my best.
