These scenes take place at Nora's house after the dinner party at the Cherryvale Inn. Sam has brought Nora home and wants to come in to check and make sure that everything is okay in the house. Nora convinces him that she is perfectly safe and that he needs to go home to his daughter, Jennifer, and talk with her about what happened at the dinner party. Sam reluctantly agrees and leaves.
Meanwhile, Colin is in Nora's house. He pulls out a plane ticket with the names Dr. & Mrs. R. Butler on it. Hearing Nora and Sam at the door, he hides in the corner of Nora's office. Nora comes in, takes of her coat and reaches for the lamp switch, but hesitates sensing that something isn't right. Colin is seen in the foreground holding a syringe and is listening for Nora.
Nora finally turns on a lamp and goes to her office to check her messages. Colin hides behind the partition.

Nora: No messages. Of course there are no messages, everybody you know was at dinner with wacko. (she starts taking off her jacket and unbuttoning and rolling up her sleeves; Colin is watching her) I have work to do.
She sits down and leans back, putting her feet up on the desk and closing her eyes. Colin comes out from behind the partition, syringe in hand and starts to approach Nora. There is a knock at the door. Colin quickly retreats behind the partition.
Nora: (going to open the door) Sam?!
Sam: (coming in) I know, I know, I know. I just got half way down the street and I got this feeling in the pit of my stomach and I just had to come back. (walking into the living room) This is not funny, Nora. I mean, there's a lunatic running around out there. Who knows what he'll do next?
Nora: Leave town, I think, I hope.
Colin starts to move towards the back door, and is obviously unhappy with Sam's comments.
Sam: Yeah, you know what. I'm not one to say I told you so, but the fact is, you encouraged him. You spent a lot of time with him and it wasn't a good idea.
Nora: Thank you. I was trying to get him to incriminate Lindsay.
Sam: Yeah, and it didn't work. I'm just afraid he may have gotten the wrong idea and think he still has a chance with you.
Nora: Trust me, I'm sure he's very over me.
Sam: (laughing) Yeah, well I'll believe that when I see it. (Colin ducks behind the chair as Sam walks towards Nora's office) Does uh . . . the alarm work?
Nora: It worked the other day when I punched in the wrong code.
Sam: Ok. Fine. (walking back into the living room) Do you have a gun?
Nora: Who do you think I am, Asa Buchanan?!
Sam: For protection, Nora.
Nora: For protection. What if our son found that protection and thought it was a toy?
Sam: Alright. Of course your right.
Nora: What is with you? I've never seen you like this?
Sam: (pacing) You know something, I've never felt exactly like this. You know when I look at Colin, . . . all I can do is think of what he did to you; how he kept you prisoner, he took you from your family, from the people that love you and I just want to wring his neck. And what really galls me is that he's walking around, free. He's not in prison where he belongs. The fact that this guy is walking around with full immunity is the greatest miscarriage of justice I'VE EVER SEEN.
Nora: If he didn't get immunity, then Will would be in jail and that would have been a greater miscarriage of justice.
Sam: Not a day goes by that I'm not grateful that Will is free, but now my family is in danger. I mean, Lanie tells me that Colin has been harrassing Jenn. Certainly he's threatened Lanie. I . . . who knows what he could do to you?
Nora: Well, have you thought about a restraining order?
Sam: For Colin?!
Nora: I know, it's an exercise in futility.
Sam: Look, Colin never does what he says he's going to do anyway. He always does the opposite. So I don't believe for a second that he's left town and I certainly don't believe for a second that he's gotten over his feelings for you . . . He's a sick man, Nora and he's got nothing to lose. (Colin smirks)
Nora: Sam, I'm fine, okay. I'm gonna be here, I'm safe here.
Sam: Really? And are you never going to leave?
Nora: Not tonight. I'm staying right here.
Sam: Fine. Well then I'm staying right here with you. (Colin is obviously not happy about this)
Colin ducks down behind the chair.
Sam: (walking into the office) I'm staying here for the night.
Nora: (following Sam) Oh, Sam . . . I don't know.
Sam: Why? Why? Why? I mean, Matthew's not here, he's at his grandfolks. He's not going to get the wrong idea or anything.
Nora: (getting agitated) You have your own family to worry about.
Sam: Nora, you are the mother of my child and I am genuinely afraid for you.
Nora: That's very sweet of you, but it's really not necessary.
Sam: Well, it might be necessary for my peace of mind. Did you ever think of that?
Nora: Stop worrying about me Sam.
Sam: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I'll do that the day I stop breathing, Nora. This guy is crazy. You don't know what he's going to do next.

Colin is still hiding behind the chair, ready to use the syringe if he has to.
Nora: No, your right. I don't know.
Sam: Fine. So I'm staying. Alright? Here.(sitting down in the chair that Colin is hiding behind)
Nora: (frustrated) Sam, no, okay. I don't want to let someone like Colin MacIver rule my life.
Sam: (wiggling in the chair, making Colin nervous) I couldn't agree with you more.
Nora: Then go home. Please. Go home. I'll be fine. I will lock the doors. I'll set the alarm correctly. Please . . . oh, I don't need anyone watching over me.
Sam: You don't want anyone watching over you.
Nora: It's just not necessary, Sam. I appreciate your concern, I really do. It's really sweet.
Sam: But, but get lost, right?
Nora: Well, that's not it.
Sam: What is it, Nora? Do you want to be alone?
Nora: Yes, I do. I want to be alone. I really do. I promise I will take very good care of myself. I won't take any unnecessary risks. I won't take any unnecessary chances.
Sam: Are you sure?
Nora: Oh. (grabs Sam's coat and hands it to him) Very sure. Go home. Go.
Sam: (walking towards the door) You would have made a good lawyer, you know that?
Nora: (following him) Yeah, I heard that before somewhere. I don't know where.
Colin slips out from behind the chair to make sure that Sam is leaving.
Sam: Alright, look, if you here so much as a single noise, you . . .
Nora: I'll call you . . . Thank you . . . I will, I 'll lock up. (waves goodbye)
After letting Sam out, Nora walks back into the living room.
Nora: (looking in the mirror) Just another typical day in the life of Nora Buchanan. (turning off the lights, she walks over to the couch, slips her shoes off and lays down)
Seeing Nora laying on the couch, Colin starts to creep quietly towards her, syringe ready in his hand. Nora sees his reflection in the mirror just as he lunges forward and injects her in the shoulder.
Nora: (she jumps up off the couch holding her shoulder) WHAT DID YOU DO, COLIN? WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?
Colin: It's okay, Nora.
Nora pushes him down and runs to the front door knocking over a chair and lamp on the way.
Nora: (trying to get the chain off) STAY AWAY FROM ME. STAY AWAY FROM ME.

Colin: (picking the syringe up off the floor) Careful Nora, that drug works fast.
Nora: (hanging on to the chain, she slides down to the floor) Stay away, stay away. (sitting back against the door)
Colin: (walking towards her) It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. Alright? (he kneels next to her)
Nora: (groggy) S-Sam. I have to call Sam.
Colin: Sam's not here, Nora. Why do you want to do that anyway? I just want to have some fun, okay? I just want you and me to have some fun together, that's all.
Nora: Sam? (trying to focus on Colin)
Colin: I'm the only person here now. It's just you and me. We're going to go for a little drive together.
Nora: (her head falling back against the door) I can't . . . I can't . . . I can't go. (putting her head on Colin's shoulder) I'm safe here.

Colin: (closing his eyes, he runs his fingers through her hair) You're going to be safe with me too, Nora. I'm going to take real good care of you.
Nora: (nuzzling Colin's neck) I can't go. I can't go anywhere.
Colin: (trying to help her up) Come on. It's okay. It's okay. Everything's going to be okay.
Nora: (putting her arms around his neck) Where? Where are you . . . where are you taking me?
Colin: (opening the door) We're just going to go for a little drive.
Nora: Where are you taking me?
Colin: (turning Nora around and guiding her through the door) Come on, let's go outside. It's alright.
Nora: (walking unsteadily) Where are you . . .
Colin: (wrapping his arms around her to support her, he guides her out the door) I got you. I have you, Nora. . . I have you, Nora.
They leave with the front door wide open.
Colin's house.

Colin pushes the door open and Nora walks in, unsteady on her feet.
Nora: Where are we? Where are we going?
Colin: (closing the door while watching Nora) We're going to be together.
Nora: (falling backwards, Colin catches her) We are?
Colin: Yeah.
Colin starts to kiss her neck, then picks her up and carries her up the stairs.
