Transcribed by Laura
This is a transcript of the Colin/Nora scenes that took place during (approximately) the first half hour of Friday's show. Some parts aren't necessarily word for word (I did my best ;) ) and I stopped after Nora leaves, which is when ABC stopped interrupting. Check the recap for a summary of the rest of the show.
Lindsay is in Colin's bedroom, looking at the shrine he built with Nora's picture, hospital ID bracelet, etc.
Nora and Colin enter the living room.
Nora: I just can't believe Max came onto me like that and he wouldn't take no for an answer. That was kind of scary. I'm glad you came along when you did. I... I don't think he'll try again.
Colin: You don't have to worry about Max bothering you here. Or ever again. Not as long as I'm with you.
Max is lurking outside Colin's house.
Nora: He just took me off guard, that's all. You know, I've known Max for years and I've always trusted him. It's just that... tonight he scared me just about as bad as any man on earth. Her voice fades as she looks at Colin.
Colin: Oh, boy. I bet I can guess what you're thinking now.
Nora: You did hold me hostage.
Colin: While I healed you. Nora: And you gave me a drug that wiped out my memories.
Colin: I had nothing to do with that!
Nora: Everyone says that you're just a horrible person and they tell me about all these awful things that you did to me.
Colin: And yet you're here.
Nora: Yeah, I'm here. Somehow you make me feel safe.
Lindsay is in the bedroom still.
Lindsay: Colin, you're out of your mind.
She goes downstairs, stopping when she hears Nora and Colin talking. She listens to their conversation from the stairs.
Colin: Do you mean that? Do you really feel safe here with me?
Nora: Oh, I don't know! I don't know! God... I shouldn't. I know I shouldn't. It doesn't seem to make any sense, does it? I want to hate you, Colin.
Colin: Do you?
Nora: I don't know, yeah. No. I don't know, I really don't. When I'm here I don't feel as much as anger as when I'm not there. And when I'm not here, amidst all that anger I think a lot about you.
Colin: Wow. What kind of thoughts, exactly? they laugh
Nora: No, I'm not going to tell you. Get away from me.
Colin: No, I'm kidding. You don't have to answer that.
Nora: No, I'm not going to tell you any of that. Except that you invade my space, you know? You invade my mind and you invade my dreams.
Colin: You dream about me?
Nora: Yeah, and that's wrong. It's very wrong.
Colin: No.
Nora: Yes.
Colin: No, Nora. That's not wrong. It's not wrong at all.
Nora: Yes, it is. You put a drug in my vein! You wiped out my memories. You took away the happiest moments of my life! That's not just wrong. It's cruel and it's inhumane!
Colin: I didn't give you that drug. I didn't give you that drug! I gave you the antidote.
Nora: You keep telling me that but why should I believe you?
Colin: You already do. Otherwise you wouldn't have these feelings for me.
Nora: I never said I had any feelings for you! she sits down, and he sits beside her Oh! I just want the truth so I can get on with my life. If you didn't do this to me, who did?
Colin: Is that what you need to know to believe me? You need to know who poisoned you? Is that what you need from me?
Nora: Colin, I'm not trying to get you to say something that you can't. I shouldn't be here. I really shouldn't be here. Not until I'm absolutely sure that you're not responsible for this. This isn't fair. I'm sorry.
Colin: You want me to tell you that Lindsay did this, don't you?
Nora: I want the truth, whatever it is.
Colin: But you suspect Lindsay.
Nora: Everybody tells me that she is some horrible, hideous creature that doesn't have a shred of human decency and if... I just want to know who did this so I can make some sense out of my life. And if you didn't do this and she did, if Lindsay did this than I need to know that so I can make sense of my feelings for you.
Colin: I thought you said you didn't have feelings for me? Lindsay goes back to the bedroom. That's all I've ever wanted. Nora, the months we spent together while I took care of you, those were the most incredible months of my life. You and I... we connected on a very, very deep level. He takes hold of her hand. I could never hurt you. You have to believe that.
Nora: Make me believe you, Colin. Make me trust you. Make me trust myself. He touches her cheek, leans in to kiss her cheek.
They almost kiss when Nora stops him.
Nora: No. No, Colin.
Colin: Why not? Why not? You want to make sense of your feelings. Nora, what better way to do that to to act on them?
Nora: No, I can't. She stands up. I need time. I can't. I want to know the truth first.
Colin: You want to know the truth? Colin comes up behind her, runs his hand down the length of her arm and then holds his arm around her waist. There's truth in a kiss. Nora turns slightly, almost giving in and then the phone rings.
Nora: Isn't that your phone? I think that you should answer your phone. Could be really important. She moves away from him and he goes to answer the phone.
Colin: Hello?
Lindsay: You are pathetic!
Colin: Uh, I think you have the wrong number.
Lindsay: Oh, no, no. I have the right number. I heard every word you said. I happen to be upstairs in your bedroom, but I was just on the stairs listening. If you mention my name, I'm gonna have to bring your girlfriend up here and show her the shrine you made in your armoire.
Colin: Uh, I beg your pardon?
Lindsay: You're gonna be begging for a lot more than that if you don't get rid of her right now. They hang up.
Nora: Well, who was that? Colin? Something wrong?
Colin: Uh, look, I'm sorry. But I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Nora: I thought that was a wrong number.
Colin: Yeah, me too. I've been getting so many calls for Lanie lately. But apparently that wasn't one of them. Something I have to take care of immediately.
He helps her with her coat and opens the door
Nora: It sounds serious.
Colin: No, no. Nothing I can't handle.
Nora: When am I gonna see you again? Colin: Well, I'll give you a call.
Nora: Right.
Colin: Nora. What you said to me today, about those feelings you have for me, that meant a lot to me.
She leaves and Colin runs upstairs to confront Lindsay.
